For Lifecodes' June 2025 webinar, we talked about the path to a career in medicine with Dr. Ann Chen and Dr. Irvin Ma. They told us about their journeys to where they are now starting from high school and gave advice to high school students interested in medicine. 

About the speakers:

DR. ANN CHEN works for Stanford Center for Asian Health Research and Education. She attended MIT and majored in molecular biology. Dr. Chen was also selected as a Howard Hughes Institute Research Fellow for Harvard Medical School and published several papers on transplant surgery and xenotransplantation. 

DR. IRVIN MA is currently a first-year GI fellow at Stanford Medicine, where he dives deeper into the medical field of gastroenterology and hepatology. Dr. Ma attended medical school at the University of Nevada School of Medicine.
